Riga active tour (5 days / 4 nights)


DAY 1: RIGA (arrival)

Arrival to Riga. Private transfer the hotel. Check-in.

DAY 2: RIGA

Breakfast at the hotel.

In the morning your local guide will take you for a 3 hour excursion through Riga (on foot), the „Metropolis of the Baltics“. The tour will cover the most impressive places of the city: The Old Town, surrounded by a water channel, with the famous Dome cathedral, St. John and St. Peter churches, the Freedom Monument, National Opera, Parliament, Castle and the cosy spacious squares. The tour will continue to a remarkable Art Nouveau district, the architectural and artistic answer to the literary Modernist movement in the late 19th century.

In the afternoon 4 hour excursion to the greenest part of Riga, the Mezaparks neighbourhood. You will find magnificent villas that date back to the early 20th century, many of them built of wood. You can visit the Great Stage of Mezaparks, where the massive Latvian Song Festival’s chief concert is held once every four years – the Song Festival is a global phenomenon, and only the Baltic countries hold such festivals. On the way back to Riga ride along the shores of the Ķisezers lake. Cycling approximately 20 km.

DAY 3: RIGA – MEZAKAKIS ADVENTURE PARK - RIGA (250 km)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure to Mezakakis adventure park. The park is built in the forest hillside of the primeval valley of Gauja. On growing trees there are barriers fastened in various heights that are constructed from ropes, nets, and many kinds of little bridges, swings, logs and ladders strained between trees. There are 53 barriers placed in total that are divided into four paths depending on difficulty level. Before starting your adventures local instructors will provide all the necessary information, training and professional safety equipment as well as make sure your leisure in Mezakakis park is safe and unforgettable. Return to Riga.

DAY 4: RIGA – GAUJA NATIONAL PARK – RIGA (250 km)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure for a 4 hours canoe expedition in Gauja River valley, which was left behind when Ice Age glaciers receded. The Gauja National Park is one of the best-appointed protected territories in Latvia in terms of nature trails and tourism routes. You will spend 4 hours canoeing down the River Gauja, enjoying the best vantage points where you will discover the sandstone cliffs and virgin forests of Latvia’s most beautiful valley. Canoeing approximately 7 km. After the adventures experience picnic in the nature. Return to Riga.

DAY 5: RIGA (departure)

Breakfast. Time at leisure for shopping or any other activities. Private transfer to Riga airport.
